A story in Wednesday’s Maine Day on deer hunting had an editing mistake that attributed the decline in the deer kill to a lack of overall participation in the fall hunt based on the fact there were fewer deer hunters in the North Maine Woods. The article was supposed to say the drop in participation in the North Maine Woods could suggest a lack of hunter effort in the fall hunt.
