Thursday’s Page One story about two female UMaine students acquitted of violating Maine’s indecent conduct law incorrectly stated that their attorney was provided by the university. In fact, the attorney was provided by Ted Curtis of Student Legal Services, funded by UMaine Student Government Inc. The student government acts independently of the university through funding approved by the student body via referendum. The funding comes from a student fee.
