A story in some editions Monday about a man who drowned Sunday in Marsh Stream in Frankfort incorrectly spelled his name and listed the wrong residence. The victim, Michael Merithew, was from Stockton Springs.

A story published in Tuesday’s Maine Day about a Mount Desert planning board issue incorrectly stated that Erik Stumpfel, attorney for Mount Desert, had sent e-mail copies of a memo he wrote to the town’s planning board to other attorneys involved in the issue. Stumpfel didn’t send the memo to the other attorneys. The error was repeated in a second story on the issue published in Wednesday’s Maine Day. The inaccuracy was a reporting error. The Bangor Daily News regrets the error.

Curtis Kimball, an attorney for three creditors in the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad bankruptcy proceeding, could not go to the judge to push for a sale of the railroad to other interested buyers if a proposed sale to Rail World Inc. is not completed soon. Instead, the article printed on Thursday’s business page should have said it would be up to the trustee, attorney James Howard, to push for the sale to be wrapped up quickly.

In a story published Tuesday, May 14 in the Maine Day section, West Branch Terrace in Pittsfield was incorrectly referred to as an assisted living complex. It is an independent living complex.
