The headline for a story in Monday’s Maine Day about a second cable TV franchise in Houlton was misleading. An order was introduced at Monday’s Town Council meeting that, if approved after a public hearing in July, would allow the town to begin negotiations for a second franchise. Negotiations have not begun.

A story on Tuesday’s business page about job training at The Jackson Laboratory incorrectly stated the average starting salary for a high-tech job. The actual starting pay is $10.25 an hour for a production technician’s job. A fully trained technician with at least 18 months of experience could earn an average wage of $31,600. The error was due to incomplete information provided by the laboratory.
