While this is true, Maine residents can access a ‘do not call’ list. To sign up, go to www.state.me.us and click on the “Sign Up for the ‘Do Not Call'” listing, under the “Online Services” heading. Or write to Direct Marketing Association, Telephone Preference Center, P.O. Box 1559, Carmel, NY 10512. It can take up to six months to stop all the calls.

An item about winter parking regulations in Bangor that ran on Wednesday’s City page contained an incorrect date. The new regulations are in effect from Nov. 1 to March 31, 2003.
