Correcting the record

A story on Page B1 in Tuesday’s editions about broken water mains in Maine contained incorrect figures on the water main breaks in the City of Bangor. The correct numbers are: Bangor experiences an average of 20 water main breaks a year and has had 23 main breaks this year.

A listing of Houlton District Court cases published in Monday’s State edition incorrectly indicated that David A. Weed, 47, of Mapleton paid a $100 fine for criminal trespass. In fact, the charge was filed, and the fee was for court costs. The error was the result of an inaccuracy in a court document.
