A divorce listing from 2nd District Court in Presque Isle for Joseph B. Haines and Laura Marie Haines, both of Presque Isle, published in last Saturday’s State edition should have said that primary physical residence of one child was awarded to the mother, not the father. The error was the result of a mistake in the court record.

A notice of the upcoming election in Corinth that ran in the Final edition of the Feb. 28 paper misidentified one of the candidates. Jeffrey B. Dow Jr. is running for a two-year term as selectman, assessor and overseer of the poor. The election will be held from 1:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, at the town office.

A story on Page B1 in Tuesday’s paper about the Aroostook Band of Micmacs stated that the tribe is not able to give hiring preference to tribal members and does not have anti-discrimination policies similar to those outlined in the Maine Human Rights Act. That is inaccurate. The tribe is able to give hiring preference to its members and does have an anti-discrimination policy. In the past six years, a majority of claims filed with the Maine Human Rights Commission against the tribe have been dismissed, including at least three filed by tribal members, according to the tribe’s Bangor attorney, Gregory Dorr.
