Correcting the record

In a story about the Great Northern Paper Co. bankruptcy that ran on Page A9 in May 23 editions, attorney Jay Geller should have been identified as a Portland lawyer.

Two names were misspelled in the Joni Averill column for May 24, regarding a Daughters of the American Revolution fund-raiser. The Frances Dighton Williams Chapter is sponsoring the fund-raiser, which features, among other Bangor landmarks, the Peirce Memorial.

A May 17 story in some editions about a sexual assault case involving Vernald Strikefoot should have noted that although the alleged victim’s parents were not in the courtroom, they were present in the courthouse.

A news item in some editions May 24-25 [May 23 in State edition] noted the same-day openings of two farmers markets in Belfast. The Belfast Farmers’ Market, Washington Street, and the Farmers’ Market at Renys, Renys Plaza, are not affiliated with each other.
