A story regarding Enhanced-911 published Monday needs clarification. Only those Maine residents who have the telephone exchange that begins with 794 cannot yet call 911 and must dial the seven-digit number to their emergency service. There are about 60 communities that have not yet completed the renumbering of streets; however, they do have 911 dialing service and can and should dial 911 in an emergency. Anyone with questions regarding Enhanced-911 may call the Emergency Services Communications Bureau at (888) 448-3803.
