Correcting the record

An article on Page B2 in some Thursday editions listed an incorrect date for the special town meeting in Milford. The correct date for the meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29.

A story in Tuesday’s editions about a fine and restitution order against Michael Turner of Freedom for unlawful cutting of trees listed three people who would receive restitution. The court-ordered restitution will be made to just one of the three, Earl Purnell.

A story about a decision by the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals that ran in Thursday’s paper on Page B5 contained errors. Ronald and Liz Rankin live in Ludlow, not Hampden. The couple previously was awarded a $150,000 judgment against SI Trucking only. The couple’s Bangor attorney, A.J. Greif, stated that Allstate is at risk, after a jury trial, for $50,000 and 18 percent interest on delayed or unpaid claims.
