Wednesday’s story on childhood immunizations contained two errors. The Hib vaccine does not protect against influenza, but against some forms of meningitis, pneumonia and other serious infections. Also, the state provides required vaccines free of charge to all children, not just children in low-income families as reported. Some medical offices charge a $5 administration fee.
