A story in Friday’s Bangor Daily News misstated the historical significance of the moose hunt. The story should have said that the 2004 hunt, approved by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Advisory Council on Thursday, was among the largest in the hunt’s history. The 2,895 permits to be allocated next fall will make this hunt the fifth-largest, with peak hunts of 3,000 permits occurring during several recent years.
