Police gave inaccurate information in a Dec. 8 State section story about a traffic accident on Route 1 in Calais. Two men died in the crash, and one of them, Brian McDonald, 27, was wearing a seat belt.

A headline on Monday’s State page on the loggers’ and truckers’ strike against Irving Woodlands was erroneous. Neither Irving nor Chuck Gadzik, operations manager for J.D. Irving’s Maine Woodlands, declared the strike had ended over the weekend. Gadzik indicated that the story was accurate, and that discussions between the differing sides continued Monday. The NEWS regrets any confusion resulting from the error.
