A story published on the Local & Regional page in the State edition of the Jan. 28 newspaper about the Houlton Town Council needs to be clarified. The Houlton Humane Society is giving Houlton a reprieve on the contract fees the town pays for using the shelter facility. In turn, the council is giving the humane society a reprieve on the society’s mortgage obligation for its facility.

A news item in the final edition of Tuesday’s paper on Page B3 contained incorrect information about the place of the Bangor Republican caucus. The Caucus will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Richard Dyke Center on the Husson College campus.
