Correcting the record

In a story about Maine’s mental health system on the front page of the State section on March 10, The Associated Press erroneously reported a recommendation by the court-appointed overseer. The overseer recommended the community-based mental health system should not be placed under the control of a court-appointed receiver. The story erred by reporting that the overseer recommended changing receivership for Augusta Mental Health Institute. The overseer made no such recommendation. A judge appointed a receiver for the community-based mental health system last September, but stayed the appointment for six months. On March 8, the overseer recommended extending the stay of appointment.
