TORONTO – In a story on the front page of Tuesday’s paper about Canada’s annual seal hunt, The Associated Press erroneously reported that The Humane Society of the United States doesn’t oppose the hunt. Spokesman Nicholas Braden said the group is opposed to any hunting of wildlife for commercial purposes and also opposes hunting for sports and recreation, although it has active campaigns only against the most brutal forms, such as leg hold traps.

In the Style section Wednesday, the weekly column Tidbits should have included Saturday, April 17, as the date for the North Atlantic Area Food Science College Bowl at the University of Maine in Orono. The events begin at 1:30 p.m.
