Correcting the record

A story in Monday’s paper incorrectly listed the date of the Deer Isle-Stonington CSD annual meeting during which residents will vote on the school budget. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at the Reach Auditorium.

A story in Monday’s paper on the recovery of a lost research vessel incorrectly stated that Federal Aviation Administration regulations do not allow for single-engine planes to go out over open water unless they are within gliding distance from land. It is actually a Civil Air Patrol regulation. In the same story, Lt. Col. Tom Trask was cited as one of two Aroostook County men who participated in the search. His name is Lt. Col. John Trask.

The Maine State Lottery’s Pick Three and Pick Four numbers for the drawing of Saturday, May 29, were listed incorrectly. The day drawing was 026 and 0978, and the evening drawing was 551 and 4271.

A caption published Tuesday accompanying the Page One photo of the bronze statue memorializing the Vietnam War at the Cole Family Land Transportation Museum in Bangor should have identified Eric Michael Wardwell as the soldier on the left. Wardwell was killed in the war.
