A story in Thursday’s edition about Rep. Barbara Merrill’s proposal to reform county government reported that Belfast and Brewer pay about the same in county taxes. In fact, Belfast paid $1.2 million, and Brewer paid $556,274 in 2004.

A story on the front page of the State section in Thursday’s paper misstated the status of some Atlantic salmon rivers. The eight federally protected salmon populations are as follows: the Dennys, Machias, East Machias, Pleasant, Narraguagus, Sheepscot and Ducktrap rivers, and Cove Brook, a tributary of the Penobscot River.
