An April 15 story on Page B8, “Micmacs’ case sent to federal court/Decision’s language strongly implies tribes are not subject to state law,” may have given the erroneous impression that the Micmacs are contemplating developing a casino. According to Douglas J. Lockerman, attorney for the tribe, he is unaware of any plans for a casino or plans for litigation that would act as a way for the Aroostook Band of Micmacs to bring a casino to the area.
