Clarification: A story on Page B1 by the Capitol News Service in Monday’s editions about polls on gay rights issues requires some clarification. University of Maine professor Amy Fried, who was quoted in the article, wants to clarify that national polls show 60 percent to 65 percent of Americans support either gay marriage or civil unions.
