A Los Angeles Times obituary for lobbyist and political insider Fred Dutton that ran in its entirety on page B6 in the State edition incorrectly stated that Edmund G. “Pat” Brown was California’s first Democrat governor in the 20th century. Democrat Culbert Olson served from 1939 to 1943. The obituary was cut for later editions and the error did not appear.

Clarification

A story about a car-bicycle accident on Pittsfield’s Main Street on Monday evening that ran in some editions of Tuesday’s paper requires clarification. Pittsfield police Officer Michael Cote said the two children on bicycles were “legally in the pedestrian crosswalk” when they were struck by a vehicle making a right turn. Cote blamed the accident on driver inattention.
