A story about Milo’s tax rate published in Friday’s Final edition should have clarified that a resident who owns $60,000 in property and who does not receive the homestead exemption will see an increase of $171 in the 2005-2006 tax bill. However, those who have $60,000 in property and who do receive the exemption actually will pay fewer taxes than in the previous year.

A From Police Files item published Friday incorrectly stated the time of a search at the home of Eric Lamprey, 30, of Bangor. Officers entered the man’s home at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Clarification

In a story on Thursday’s Well-Being page about a group of mothers with Chinese-born daughters, the approximated cost of $23,000 for adoptions includes fees paid to U.S. adoption agencies and Chinese orphanages, documentation fees, travel expenses and other costs associated with international adoption.
