In an early edition of the Dec. 2 newspaper, the Page One story “Tough heating season foreseen” contained an error regarding the number of votes needed under U.S. Senate budget rules to pass bills calling for additional heating subsidies. The correct number is 60 votes, a so-called “supermajority.” It was a reporter’s error that was corrected in later editions.

A story in some editions of the State section Friday describing Route 1 development in Thomaston gave the wrong name for a citizen group. It is Citizens for Reasonable Growth.

A news story published in Thursday’s final State edition about a proposed multiuse athletic field complex contained a spelling error. The president of the Bangor Soccer Club is Rod Towne.
