A Page One story in Thursday’s Bangor Daily News described a Wednesday conversation as taking place between Democratic leaders and Rep. Joanne Twomey behind closed doors. The conversation, in fact, took place in a hallway and was between just Twomey and a legislative committee chairman.

A story and photo captions about the new Downeast Gateway Bridge under construction to replace the Waldo-Hancock Bridge that ran in Saturday’s paper did not mention the bridge is being built by a joint venture of two Maine companies, Cianbro Corp. of Pittsfield and Reed & Reed Inc. of Woolwich.

A Los Angeles Times obituary of writer Sanora Babb misidentified Douglas Wixson as an emeritus professor at the University of Texas. He is a visiting researcher at the university’s Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center.

The article also stated that Babb reported on the Spanish Civil War for the British journal This Week. The journal was called The Week, and she did not report on the war but edited accounts of it.
