A Page 1 story published Monday about four dogs that drowned when an unattended car rolled into the Stillwater River in Orono contained some inaccurate information. Only three of the four dogs belonged to the woman who owns the car. Also, though University of Maine police believe the car might have been left in neutral with the park brake disengaged, the cause of the accident had not been determined.

An item in the “From Police Files” column that ran on Feb. 20 should have reported that Alexandra Mclean, 26, of Orono and Michael Bahner, 23, of Indiana both were summoned Saturday on a charge of criminal trespass by Orono police.
