Correcting the record

A notice published in Wednesday’s final edition about the third Orono Bicentennial Celebration lecture, set for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the Orono Town Council chambers, contained incorrect historical information. The notice should have said that Orono settler John Marsh participated in Benedict Arnold’s march to Quebec City.

In a story published on the front page of the State section Wednesday, possible uses for the Budget Stabilization Fund were erroneously attributed to Department of Administrative and Financial Services Commissioner Rebecca Wyke. It was an editing error.

A story in Monday’s State section about two men who were arrested in Presque Isle Saturday night contained errors. James Parlin is 32 and Jacob Parlin is 26. The men are uncle and nephew, respectively, not brothers. Jacob Parlin was held on $300 cash bail, and James Parlin was held on $500 cash bail.
