Correcting the record

In a story about Aroostook County elections in Monday’s State section, the correct name of the Democrat for register of probate is Joanne Carpenter. Louise Caron and Patricia Brown are not opponents, but each is unopposed for register of deeds, in the northern and southern districts.

George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill was listed incorrectly as winning the state Class C baseball title in 2005 in a Sports story on Monday. St. Dominic of Auburn won the title in 2005.

In Tuesday’s Creating section, an arts listing should have read that “Solo Slou,” acrylic landscape paintings, inspired by light and color and the perception of memory, are on display through May at the Whig and Courier Pub, 18 Broad St., Bangor. For information, call 947-4095.
