In the Creating section Tuesday, a caption accompanying a story about John Wilmerding’s new book, “Richard Estes,” should have credited New York’s Marlborough Gallery for providing and permitting reproduction of the work “Vinalhaven, Maine.”

VIENNA, Austria – In an Aug. 3 story about the death of world-renowned soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, The Associated Press erroneously reported that she was an aunt of U.S. Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf. She was an only child, and her former agent, Klaus Juergen Stoehlker, said he was unaware of any family connection.
