A story published in Friday’s final edition about a Brewer man sentenced on drug charges after he was discovered with cocaine in a local taxicab requires clarification. The story stated that a cabdriver, Peter Mackin, 41, of Bangor, was charged for illegal drug possession after a pill was discovered in his cab. The Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges in the matter, according to Deputy District Attorney Michael Roberts.

The headline on a story on Page B3 of Friday’s paper about the Millinocket Town Council considering a sex-offender ordinance was incorrect. No vote was taken. The ordinance was being reviewed for the first time with more reviews to follow.

The picture that ran on Aug. 30 with the story “Habitat group finds growing network of support in County” was not taken by Rachel Rice. It was contributed by Nadiene Brewer.
