Correcting the record

An article published in Wednesday’s State section about stolen street signs in Orrington incorrectly listed the amount the town paid to replace the 17 signs. The town paid a total of $480 plus labor costs.

A Wednesday Page One story on the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program misidentified the subsidiary of the Venezuelan state-owned oil company that contributed $5 million to the state’s LIHEAP program last winter. It is Citgo, not Chevron, a U.S. company. The error also was included in a July 15 story about the program.

A headline Wednesday on Page B8 was incorrect. Adam Melvin Hafford was charged with being a

felon in possession of a firearm.
