Correcting the record

Thursday’s Page 1 story about the state’s plan to make overdue Medicaid payments to Maine hospitals contained a reporting error. St. Joseph Healthcare in Bangor has been able to continue operations without borrowing money to make up for the state’s failure to adequately compensate for Medicaid patients. Also, the hospital has not purchased a new nuclear imaging device as reported but is only considering such a purchase.

A story that ran on Page 1 on Monday, Oct. 9, about the Patient Navigation Program misidentified a Bangor man who offered to let a Southwest Harbor couple use his home. The man’s name is Wayne Wibby and he is a dentist in Bangor, not a doctor.

A story on Wednesday’s State page on the domestic violence project in Houlton contained an editing error. The name of the boy who died as a result of domestic violence was Stephen Vance Ketzel, age 2.
