Based on information from the Maine Department of Transportation, a story on Page One on Tuesday called the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory the tallest bridge observatory in the world. Although at 420 feet the Penobscot Narrows observation deck is the tallest publicly accessible bridge observatory, the 160-meter (525-foot) observation deck atop the Rama VIII bridge in Bangkok, Thailand, is taller. Access to the Rama VIII observation deck, however, is not open to the public.
