Correcting the record

A photo caption on Page B2 of Thursday’s paper should have listed Tech. Sgt. Mike French as a flight chief with the security forces squadron at Bangor’s Air National Guard base.

Clarification

Greenville Town Manager John Simko has asked to clarify a quotation in Wednesday’s paper on possible expansions at Big Squaw Mountain Resort, located on Big Moose Mountain. Simko was quoted as saying that some people in the area had become somewhat jaded “because we have suffered literally decades of not seeing that promise fulfilled.” Simko said Thursday that by “promise” he meant the potential or promising nature of a ski resort on Big Moose Mountain. Simko said he was not implying that any specific agreement had been made between the resort owner, Jim Confalone, and the community.
