A Page 1 story in Wednesday’s paper about a $12 million gift to the University of Maine should have referred to donor George Houston as an alumnus of the university.
A story published in the coastal edition of Tuesday’s paper needs clarification. Ronald D. Eaton, 47, of Little Deer Isle, who was cleared on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal threatening at a trial last week, was acquitted by a Hancock County Superior Court justice and not a jury. Eaton’s attorney made a motion for acquittal after presenting his case and that motion was granted. While the jury heard the facts of the case, it did not decide the outcome.
