A story on Page B2 of Tuesday’s paper about turkey pie suppers at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Palmyra calculated incorrectly the number of pies made over 20 years. The number is approximately 9,000, factoring in months when suppers were not held.
A story that ran Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the State section about indictments handed up by the Penobscot County grand jury requires clarification. Richard Gagne, 57, of Bangor was indicted for violation of the sex offender registry. In the late 1980s, Gagne was one of nine people convicted of participating in sex parties involving four children from 1981 to 1983 at a Center Street apartment. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison with all but four suspended, but served nine years of that sentence because of convictions for probation violations. Photographs of the victims were not introduced at his trial.
