In a Jan. 14 story about an agreement by MySpace to protect youngsters from online sexual predators, The Associated Press erroneously quoted Parry Aftab as saying that 20 percent of teens have met someone online whom they had never met in person. Aftab, executive director of Wiredsafety.org, a children’s Internet safety group, estimates that 20 percent of teens have made contact with someone online and followed up with a face-to-face meeting.

A news item in Tuesday’s State section about the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety driver improvement course at adult education sites throughout February incorrectly reported it was free. The cost is $40. For those 65 and older the fee is $10. For information on the courses and locations call 626-3840.
