An article on Page One of Friday’s paper contained an error when referring to air pollution blowing into the state. Maine is located downwind of the megalopolis stretching from Washington, D.C., to Boston. Therefore, those populated regions, which contribute heavily to the state’s air pollution problems, are upwind of Maine.

An article on Page B3 of Friday’s paper about Comins Hall contained an incorrect date the building was constructed. The hall’s foundation was laid in 1878 and the structure completed in 1879.
