A story on Page B4 of Tuesday’s paper about a Lincoln man who was indicted by a Penobscot County grand jury needs clarification. Local police said they had no reason to believe that Eric H. Merrill, 42, had been drinking when he fired several gunshots at his home and set fire to his vehicle.

A story published March 28 in the State section about pleas entered in Ellsworth District Court by Blue Hill resident Howard Evans contained an error. Evans was not employed as a teacher at Liberty School in Blue Hill, although for several years he had been a member of a community advisory board for the school. Evans’ mentoring of a Liberty School student was arranged by the student’s parents.
