Correcting the record

In a Style story last Thursday, The Old General Store, an antique shop at 719 Main Road North in Hampden, and its owner, Kim Blood, should have been included in a list of Bangor area antique businesses.

A Page One article Thursday on the Gulf of Maine Conference at St. Andrews, New Brunswick, gave the wrong name for the former copper and zinc mine in Blue Hill where residents are concerned over possible water contamination. The correct name is the Callahan Mine.

A story last Thursday in the State section reported that Jerry Ouellette, address unknown, was stopped by the U.S. Border Patrol in Lille, and a passenger in his vehicle, Gilbert Nadeau, 51, of New Brunswick was charged with marijuana trafficking. In fact, according to Madawaska Police Chief Ronald Pelletier, the stop was made in Madawaska and the Jerry Ouellette who was driving the car is from Frenchville. He was not charged with anything.

A sports headline in Monday’s paper listed the incorrect school for high school football player Jeremy Tyler. He plays for Hampden Academy.
