A story in Saturday’s Maine Day section about the status of the United Way of Eastern Maine fund-raising campaign reported incorrectly that some longtime workplace campaigns were new when they are well-established, including Bangor Hydro, UPS and Penquis CAP. The story failed to mention that Chip Hutchins provided $100,000 to a challenge fund.
A special supplement, “Life Times,” the annual report to the community on the Eastern Agency on Aging published last Wednesday, reported that the United Way funded the agency in the amount of $57,839. Some of that amount was provided by other private grants.
An article published Saturday on the first page of the Business section about Amtrak’s inaugural run from Boston to Portland should have said the train was leaving North Station in Boston.
