In the Pictures of the Year 2000, it was incorrectly stated that Bryan E. Smith of Fryeburg hit author Stephen King on June 19. The accident occurred on that date in 1999, and Smith talked with the Bangor Daily News in late August 1999, when the photo of him was taken.
