Correcting the record

An article on Page B3 in Monday’s editions incorrectly described Shaw House Inc. as a subsidiary of the Bangor shelter for teens. Shaw House Inc. is a nonprofit organization that owns the shelter. Shaw House Development Inc., which is directing the waterworks project, is a for-profit subsidiary of Shaw House Inc.

A story on Page B2 in Tuesday’s Final edition incorrectly stated that Brewer Police Chief Steve Barker was given a one-year paid leave of absence to serve on an international police force in Iraq. The leave of absence granted Barker was unpaid.

A story in the June 5 State section about an adult book and video business suing the Brewer City Council incorrectly identified the building’s former occupant as the owner of the adult business. B&L Auto Parts is listed as the owner of the building at 583 South Main St., Brewer, in city papers, but the current lessee is Northshore Distributing Inc.
